Sara Vardanyan: A Young Armenian Leader Committed to Serving Her Country

Sara is one of the students who graduated with the highest distinction ("Très Bien") in the 2024 French Baccalaureate. In recognition of her outstanding achievement, she received an award from the French-Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFA), consisting of a €100 cheque and a small surprise. Sara is already forging a promising path in the fields of law and entrepreneurship. Here is an overview of her journey, her aspirations, and her commitment to Armenia.

Academic Plans: A Path Combining Law and Finance

When choosing her future career, Sara hesitated for a long time between several options. Initially drawn to law, she took the "Law and Major Issues of the Contemporary World" specialization during her final year of secondary school but was not fully convinced. She then considered pursuing business studies, attracted by the creativity associated with the field, although she was concerned about the cost of private schools.

She ultimately found her path after discovering the Bachelor's Degree in Law and Finance at Lyon III University. The program allows her to combine her desire for professional security with her need for creativity.

“I immediately realized that this was the program for me,” she says enthusiastically.

In the future, she hopes to work in business law, become a notary, or even launch her own business.

An Entrepreneurial Vision for Armenia

The idea of creating a business in Armenia emerged during a summer trip, when Sara became aware of her country's dependence on imports. “Why are we buying from Turkey? Why are we enriching those who do not wish us well?” she asked herself after noticing that Armenian-made clothing was not being sufficiently valued.

She therefore decided to launch a textile company in Armenia to help reduce this dependence. Her project aims to establish a fully local production chain, from manufacturing to retail, while drawing inspiration from different periods of Armenian history. She also intends to adopt an environmentally responsible approach by using natural dyeing methods and training the workforce to improve the qualifications of young people.

For Sara, creating opportunities in Armenia and attracting foreign investors are essential to ensuring the country's prosperity.

A Deep Connection to Her Armenian Roots

Sara's strong bond with Armenia is deeply rooted in her family history. Her ancestors, survivors of the Armenian Genocide, endured many hardships. “It is truly important to return to your country of origin. There is something intangible and comforting that calls us back,” she explains.

Her attachment to her culture and history inspires her determination to contribute to Armenia's development. “I want to help Armenia flourish, finance urban development projects in Yerevan, and attract foreign investors,” she adds with conviction.

Valuable Advice for Future Baccalaureate Students

As an award recipient, Sara also wishes to share useful advice with students preparing for the Baccalaureate. Among her recommendations, she emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding procrastination, and not overloading oneself with revision on the eve of examinations.

“It is essential to take care of yourself and revise progressively,” she says.

She also encourages students to visualize their success as a source of motivation. “Picture your future and remember that life is too short to keep putting things off until tomorrow.”

Sara is an inspiring role model for the younger generation. Her journey and ambitions demonstrate that it is possible to combine personal passion with a strong commitment to one's country.
