Marseille and Yerevan Sign a Historic Sister City Agreement

On Monday, May 5, the Mayor of Marseille signed the sister city agreement with Yerevan alongside his Armenian counterpart, Tigran Avinyan.
Benoît Payan traveled to Armenia a few days after the official commemoration marking the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
As every year, Marseille paid tribute to the Armenian martyrs. The Palais du Pharo was illuminated in the colors of Armenia. The Mayor of Marseille, Benoît Payan, then traveled to Armenia to strengthen cooperation with the Armenian people and sign the sister city agreement.
Human, cultural, and economic ties unite the two cities, strengthened by a shared history and a mutual commitment to building a better future. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two cities through sustainable projects in the fields of culture, ecological transition, education, digital innovation, and future-oriented professions.
