Armenia Officially Granted the Right to Export Aquaculture Fish, Caviar, and High-Quality Fish Eggs to the European Union
News
Excellent news for Armenia’s fisheries and aquaculture industry!
As of March 16, 2025, Armenia has been officially authorized to begin exporting aquaculture fish and fish products (including caviar and fish eggs) to European Union Member States under Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/354, provided that the establishments concerned are registered in the TRACES system.
Although Armenia is a landlocked country, it has a well-developed aquaculture sector that is closely supervised by the Food Safety Inspection Body. Thanks to the sustained efforts of this authority, together with its counterparts at the European Commission’s DG SANTE, the technical process leading to this authorization—spanning several years—has been successfully completed.
This milestone represents a major step forward in Armenia’s economic diversification efforts, opening new opportunities for growth and international cooperation.
