In recent years, both the number and the volume of cashless transactions have increased significantly in Armenia.

As part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes – Armenia Friendship Day, the French University in Armenia (UFAR) and the MENK Association signed a partnership agreement aimed at supporting students in their professional and entrepreneurial development.

On November 28, 2024, Arman Khojoyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, participated in the event entitled “Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Armenia–Syunik Friendship Day”, held in Lyon, France.

According to the Facebook page of the Embassy of Armenia in France, this first Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes–Armenia Economic Meeting, initiated by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, focused on the key roadmap for Armenian-French economic cooperation. Among the sectors discussed, the energy sector—particularly renewable energy—was highlighted as being of strategic importance for Armenia. The Ambassador of Armenia to France, Arman Khachatryan, also took part in the conference.

From 6 to 10 November, Berlin hosted the 60th International Bazaar Trade Fair, where Armenia participated for the first time with a unified national pavilion showcasing the products of six Armenian companies. This information was announced by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

Today, a new cooperation agreement was officially signed between the Revenue Committee of Armenia and the French University in Armenia (UFAR). The agreement aims to strengthen the professional skills of both UFAR students and the staff members of the Committee.

On 1 November, the French University in Armenia (UFAR) had the honor of welcoming a delegation from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, led by Mr. Thierry Kovacs, Vice President of the Region and Mayor of Vienne. The delegation included representatives from the municipalities of Mornant, Saint-Chamond, Montélimar, and Bron, which are either twinned or in the process of establishing twinning agreements with municipalities in Armenia’s Syunik Province.

Plug and Play Germany GmbH, the winner of the grant competition organized by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, will provide consulting services, business development support, assistance in establishing business relationships, as well as innovation support and personalized mentoring to technology startups operating in Armenia.

The Institute for Research in Mathematical Machines, established in Yerevan in 1956, has decided to transition to renewable energy. Through a partnership with Acba Leasing, more than 300 solar panels were installed on the institute’s rooftop this year, enabling annual savings of 14 million drams.

The French-Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFA) recently had the honor of participating in the inaugural edition of the program "La Francophonie à la Une," hosted from Armenia by Armen Baghdasaryan. During the broadcast, Armen Mnatzakanian, President of CCIFA-France, answered the host’s questions. The program highlighted the work carried out by the CCIFA over the past 31 years, both in France and Armenia, across a wide range of sectors, including information technology, tourism, and agriculture.
