Testimonial from Eliza Galstyan, Fourth-Year Computer Science Student at UFAR

News

I had the opportunity to complete my internship remotely with Arev Place, an innovative French startup. First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the French-Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFA) and the French University in Armenia (UFAR) for organizing this internship program. This year is particularly special, as it marks the first time that students from the Computer Science Faculty have completed their internships here in Marseille. It is an exceptional opportunity that allowed us to discover the professional world in a new, dynamic, multicultural, and enriching environment. I also had the opportunity to visit the Computer Science Department of the IUT of Aix-en-Provence and to take part in the signing of the partnership agreement between UFAR and IUT Aix, a symbolic moment that reflects the strengthening of academic ties between our two institutions.

At first, when I learned that I would be working remotely, I was a little disappointed that I would not be able to go to the office, as I had expected to fully experience working within a company in France. However, today I see this way of working as a real opportunity. My accommodation is perfectly suited to remote work: I have a small office, a terrace, a garden—an enjoyable and peaceful setting, almost like a coworking space. In addition, there are opportunities to meet with the team, which creates a healthy balance between autonomy and human interaction.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Arev Place, where I had the opportunity to complete my internship, as well as to the entire team that welcomed me. Their kindness, support, and professionalism contributed greatly to the success of this experience.

Over the past few weeks, I have learned an enormous amount, both professionally and personally. At the beginning, I must admit that I was not very familiar with some of the technologies being used, but thanks to the support of the team and my daily work, I was able to improve, develop new skills, and expand my knowledge. This internship enabled me to become more independent, gain confidence, and better understand the expectations of the professional world.

My daily routine throughout this internship was both structured and stimulating, in a calm environment conducive to concentration. I discovered a new way of working—more autonomous and flexible—which helped me learn how to manage my time more effectively, organize my days efficiently, and stay motivated even while working remotely. Working from home, in a comfortable and well-designed environment, helped me find a healthy balance between my personal and professional life. This experience has brought me a great deal: it allowed me to strengthen my skills and discover a different approach to teamwork, based on remote communication and accountability. It has been a highly rewarding journey, full of valuable lessons, challenges successfully overcome, and moments that I will remember for a long time.

Finally, I leave with unforgettable memories, enriching encounters, and even greater motivation for the next stages of my journey.

Thank you once again to everyone who contributed, directly or indirectly, to this wonderful experience.
