Meeting Between the Minister of Economy and a Delegation of French Business Leaders Interested in Investing in Armenia

Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, met with a delegation of more than ten French business leaders who had arrived from Lyon. According to a statement from the Ministry, the delegation expressed strong interest in investing in Armenia and developing mutually beneficial partnerships.

During the meeting, the Minister presented Armenia’s investment policy, the legislative framework supporting investment, and the various tools available to assist businesses.

Mr. Papoyan emphasized that Armenia is actively diversifying its economy and developing several strategic sectors:

“Encouraging foreign investment is one of our priorities in order to create a business environment that is as favorable, flexible, and predictable as possible. We are particularly interested in close cooperation with our French partners and are ready to discuss opportunities for implementing mutually beneficial investment projects.”

The visit of the French delegation was organized by the Franco-Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFA).

According to data from Armstat, France is Armenia’s fifth-largest trading partner within the European Union. During the first months of 2025, trade turnover between Armenia and France reached 17.7 million USD, representing an increase of 12.4% compared with the same period in 2023. Of this amount, nearly 16.6 million USD consisted of imports from France to Armenia.
