The delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan met with Éric Lombard, France’s Minister of the Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, during an official working visit to France.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for the development of economic cooperation between Armenia and France. Particular attention was given to the inclusion of new areas within the bilateral economic agenda, with a focus on expanding trade and investment, as well as strengthening business relations between the private sectors of both countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan highlighted the successful cooperation already established with French companies and emphasized the importance of increasing the presence of French businesses in Armenia, particularly with the aim of attracting new expertise and strengthening the country’s entrepreneurial culture.
The discussion also addressed potential new avenues for cooperation, notably the possibility of constructing the Bargushat Tunnel as part of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program, with financing from the French government and the involvement of leading French construction and engineering companies.
Éric Lombard, emphasizing the particular importance of strengthening economic ties with Armenia, reaffirmed that the projects presented will remain a priority for the French government and assured that the necessary efforts will be made to support their implementation.
The two parties agreed on the next steps to be taken and on future formats for cooperation.
