Thanks to Its Quality, Armenian Wine Can Secure an Important Position in the Global Market

On February 1, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, took part in the presentation event of the 2024 activity report of the Armenian Vine and Wine Foundation (AVWF). This information was announced by the Ministry of Economy.

The Foundation’s Executive Director, Zarouhi Mouradyan, presented the programs implemented in 2024 as well as those planned for 2025, aimed at increasing the international recognition of Armenian wine, diversifying export markets, and strengthening the competitiveness of the sector.

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan emphasized that the government is ready to support the development of the sector and take all necessary measures to promote Armenian wine in international markets.

“We are ready to mobilize every available tool to contribute to the growing recognition of Armenian wine and to improve the competitiveness of our producers. Thanks to its quality, Armenian wine can secure an important position in the global market, and we will continue working toward this goal,” Minister Papoyan stated.

The Minister expressed hope that in 2026 Armenia will become the winner of the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles wine competition and that the country will successfully showcase the history and exceptional quality of Armenian winemaking to the international community.

The Minister also highlighted the government's export support programs and encouraged winemakers to take advantage of these opportunities to expand their markets and increase sales.
