Inauguration of a Metal Processing Plant Under Construction: An Innovative Industrial Facility Creating 300 Jobs

On 9 August, Minister Gevorg Papoyan visited the metal smelting plant currently under construction in the Ararat Province. The visit was also attended by Deputy Minister Narek Teryan, Governor of Ararat Province Sedrak Tevonyan, and Head of the Greater Ararat Community Aslan Avetisyan.

The Armenian-American company GTB Steel LLC will launch metallurgical production at this new facility. Specializing in the manufacture of ferrous metal products, the plant will produce reinforcing bars (rebar), steel angles, and steel pipes. This high-tech project represents a major investment in Armenia’s industrial infrastructure and is expected to have a significant economic impact on the country.

The first phase of the project will require an investment of 30 million US dollars, followed by an additional 40 million US dollars for the second phase. The initiative is expected to create approximately 300 jobs.
